We disagree with India's ₹213-cr fine over WhatsApp policy update, will appeal it: Meta

Meta said it disagrees with Competition Commission of India's (CCI) ₹213.14-crore fine over WhatsApp's 2021 privacy policy update and plans to appeal it. "The update didn't change privacy of people's personal messages and was offered as a choice for users," Meta said, adding. "It was about introducing optional business features on WhatsApp and provided further transparency about [data usage]."
