We encourage India to remove export ban on non-basmati white rice: IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said it would encourage India to remove restrictions on the export of non-basmati white rice. IMF Chief Economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas said they can be harmful globally and can lead to retaliatory measures. India has banned the export of non-basmati white rice to boost domestic supply and keep retail prices in check.
