After their 3-4 penalty shootout defeat against Paraguay in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32, Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann said, "This is the third elimination in a row, so we're not part of the first-class teams anymore." He added, "When you exit the World Cup after you play Paraguay, it is very bitter. It is very hurtful."
