Wegmans discontinues in-store scan-and-go 'SCAN' app citing losses

Supermarket chain Wegmans has said it will discontinue its in-store scan-and-go 'SCAN' app on September 18, citing losses from the Wegmans SCAN program. "Unfortunately, the losses we are experiencing...prevent us from continuing to make it available in its current state," CEO Colleen Wegman told the customers. Wegmans has applied a $20 coupon to each SCAN customer's Shoppers Club account.
