West Bengal DGP Sidd Nath Gupta gets 6-month extension

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved a six-month service extension for West Bengal DGP Sidd Nath Gupta, a 1992-batch IPS officer, beyond October 31. Appointed by the Election Commission during Bengal polls, Gupta was retained by CM Suvendu Adhikari after BJP came to power. The ACC is chaired by PM Modi.
