West Bengal forms 9-member panel to examine draft UCC Bill

The West Bengal government has formed a nine-member panel to examine and finalise the draft Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill. The panel will be headed by retired Supreme Court Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai and will have eight other members, including former Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy. The Bengal government is expected to table the bill in the Legislative Assembly in August.
