The West Bengal Health Department has reopened files related to the RG Kar rape and murder case. Health Minister Sharadwat Mukherjee held a meeting with the victim's parents to discuss their concerns on Friday. Mukherjee alleged that evidence linked to the case had been systematically destroyed and announced a review of the investigations conducted earlier into the case.
