West Bengal govt to raise DA to 38% from October 1

CM Suvendu Adhikari-led West Bengal government has notified a hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees to 38%, effective October 1. Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta had announced the increase while presenting the 2026-27 Budget in the state Assembly on June 22. The hike will also raise dearness relief for pensioners by 20 percentage points from October 1.
