West Bengal govt withdraws SC appeal on OBC status for 77 communities

The West Bengal government withdrew its appeal in Supreme Court against Calcutta HC's order quashing OBC status for 77 communities, mostly Muslim communities. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the court that state government wanted to withdraw the plea. This came after the previous TMC government had challenged HC's judgement invalidating inclusion of the respective communities in OBC list.
