West Bengal launches anti-tobacco drive in schools

West Bengal has launched a new initiative to make schools tobacco-free and protect students from addiction. Under the new SOP, schools will conduct awareness programmes, provide counselling to students using tobacco and refer them for treatment if needed. Institutions meeting set standards after self-assessment will receive a tobacco-free educational institution certificate.
