West Bengal raises trainee reserve doctor limit to 662

West Bengal has increased the maximum number of serving doctors allowed under the trainee reserve category from 477 to 662. The move will allow more government medical officers, especially those serving in rural and remote areas, to pursue postgraduate courses while remaining in service. Doctor groups welcomed the decision.
