West Bengal reports its 1st Omicron case as 7-yr-old boy tests +ve

West Bengal on Wednesday reported its first Omicron case as a seven-year-old boy tested positive for the coronavirus variant in Murshidabad district, the state Health Department said. The boy had arrived from Hyderabad via Abu Dhabi and both his parents have tested negative. Notably, the state reported 418 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, which took the tally to 16,23,609.
