What are 'ATM jackpotting' attacks, which FBI says are on rise?
ATM jackpotting is a crime where hackers exploit physical and software vulnerabilities in ATMs and use malware to force them to dispense all their cash. As per a new security bulletin by the FBI, the cases of ATM jackpotting have increased across the US. Over 700 such attacks took place in 2025, resulting in around $20 million in stolen cash.
