Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are investment vehicles that allow investment in real estate and infrastructure assets without owning physical property. REITs are required to be listed and traded on stock exchanges and can be bought and sold just like shares of any listed company. Rental income from real estate investments and capital gains on sale are REITs' income sources.
