What are self-healing roads that may be introduced in India?

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is planning to introduce a new technology that will enable a road to repair itself. The technology allows asphalt to self-heal and address the issue of potholes and cracks on roads. Small pieces of steel wool are mixed with bitumen, which when heated, enables it to rebind with stones and gravel in asphalt.
