What are the new rules for buying health insurance?

People aged above 65 years will be able to buy health insurance as Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India removed age cap. The changes came into effect from April 1, 2024. Insurers have been barred from refusing policies to people with severe medical conditions like cancer. Health insurance waiting period has been reduced from 48 months to 36 months.
