The rise in water levels of the Mula Mutha River has been attributed to the 'mosquito tornado' which was seen in Pune. Reportedly, the riverbed also has a small dam and a water treatment plant due to which water flow slowed down, NDTV reported. This led to water accumulation and helped in the breeding of mosquitoes.
