What caused loud noise during earthquake in Faridabad?

Faridabad residents reported hearing loud noise during earthquake on Thursday. According to US Geological Survey, when ground vibrates, it generates short-period seismic waves that travel through air as sound waves. First waves produced by earthquake, called P waves, behave like sound waves and can cause atmospheric vibrations. Shallower epicentres release more energy, making sounds more audible.
