What changes for buyers purchasing property from NRIs from October 1?

From October 1, resident individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) buying immovable property from NRIs will no longer need a TAN to deduct and deposit TDS. They can deduct and deposit TDS using their PAN, through a challan-cum-statement under Form 141 with the newly introduced Schedule E. However, companies and firms will still require a TAN.
