What does the ₹703-crore insurance for Mumbai’s Lord Ganesha idol cover?

The ₹703.27-crore cover for Mumbai’s GSB Ganpati’s 2026 Ganeshotsav is a combined insurance cover. Of this, ₹376.5 crore covers personal accidents involving priests and others. Jewellery and precious assets are insured for ₹99.6 crore, while ₹30 crore covers public liability. Reportedly, Lord Ganesh idol is adorned with over 66 kg of gold ornaments, 335 kg of silver and precious gemstones.
