What happens if PPF matures on holiday or isn’t withdrawn immediately?

PPF, which has 15-year maturity period, isn’t automatically extended for another five years if it matures on a holiday or the money isn’t withdrawn immediately, Livemint reported. There are no penalties or withdrawal restrictions, but this flexibility is limited. Account holders must submit Form 4 or Form H within one year of maturity to extend account's tenure and continue contributions.
