What happens now as Election Commissioner Arun Goel resigned before Lok Sabha polls?

After Election Commissioner Arun Goel resigned, a committee, headed by PM Narendra Modi, including the Leader of Opposition and a Union Minister will be formed to appoint election commissioners. Before that, a search committee having the Law Minister and two secretaries will shortlist five names. Last year, Centre approved a Bill that excluded CJI from selection process of election commissioners.
