Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a warning against an emerging cyber fraud called "boss scam". Under this scam, cybercriminals impersonate CEOs, managing directors and other senior officials via email, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams and other social media platforms. The scammers create a sense of urgency and instruct employees to transfer funds to bank accounts controlled by them.
