'Gate lice', also known as "boarding group jumpers", is a term used to refer to passengers who crowd at boarding gates before their designated group is called. Such passengers reportedly do so in an attempt to board early to secure overhead bin space. Recently, US' American Airlines started testing a new technology to deal with such passengers, according to reports.
