What is BIMSTEC Charter, document signed by India, its neighbors?

The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) took a significant step forward on May 20 as the charter entered into force said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he added, "It enables BIMSTEC to partner with other interested countries/organisations and admit Observers and new Members."
