What is clade 1 - the Mpox variant that has now spread to Sweden?

As Sweden confirms its first case of the deadly Mpox virus for the first time outside Africa, the clade 1 version, which has a higher fatality rate and severe complications like encephalitis and pneumonia apart from secondary bacterial infections, is the most talked about. It causes intense skin rashes, and larger lesions and has a higher rate of person-to-person transmission.
