What is 'coffee badging', a workplace trend experts are warning about?

Experts have warned about "coffee badging". Owl Labs CEO Frank Weishaupt said, "Coffee badging is when employees show up at office for enough time to have coffee, show their face and get a 'badge swipe', then go home to do rest of their work." He said many employees are doing this after being called to office after COVID-19 pandemic.
