What is Delusion of Parasitosis or Ekbom syndrome?
Psychiatrist Dr Sarthak Dave says Delusional Parasitosis is a psychiatric illness where individuals firmly believe they’re infested with insects, without any evidence and persists even after being given a contrasting proof. Patients may feel crawling sensations and “see” parasites, often resulting in compulsive skin picking. It requires psychiatric treatment involving both medication and therapy.
