What is GenomeIndia Project, India’s landmark 10,000 genome study?

A collaborative study from 20 universities has achieved a milestone in the GenomeIndia project by sequencing 10,000 genomes. Researchers identified 44 million unique genetic variations specific to the Indian subcontinent across 83 different populations. The massive database will help India achieve personalised medical care.
