What is goldene, a material that has been created for the 1st time?
Scientists at Sweden's Linköping University have created 'goldene', an extremely thin sheet of gold, for the first time. These sheets, which measure only one atom in thickness, were created using a hundred-year-old forging method used by Japanese smiths. The process has given gold new properties, which makes it suitable for use in carbon dioxide conversion, water purification, and communication.
