As per a survey involving 2,000 adults in US, 47% respondents said they have a positive perception of modern 'hypergamy'. Hypergamy, a term used to describe the act of marrying or dating someone perceived as more successful, stems from a desire for financial security, reputation enhancement or seeking higher self-worth and identity.
