What is IEEPA, the law that Trump used to levy tariffs?

US Supreme Court struck down most of tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump that he pursued under International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). It is a 1977 law that gives the President broad authority to regulate a variety of economic transactions following a declaration national emergency. However, Congress has authority to terminate emergency by passing a joint resolution.
