The EU is proposing a new KIDS Act to protect children online. Under the act, children under 13 would not be allowed to create social-media accounts, while children aged 13 and 14 would need parental approval. The rules would also target features such as infinite scrolling and targeted ads while requiring profiles for children to be private by default.
