What is known about H3N2 virus as India reports its 1st death?
India has reported its first death due to H3N2 influenza virus, which is also known as 'Hong Kong flu'. Its symptoms include chills, persistent coughing, fever, nausea, sore throat, body and muscle pain, diarrhoea, sneezing and runny nose. As per IMA, the H3N2 infection usually lasts for five-seven days, but the coughing can persist for up to three weeks.
