What is oxytocin and why injecting cattle with it has been banned in India?

After a baby's birth, it helps move milk from the ducts in the breast to the nipple and builds a bond between the mother and child. In India, injecting oxytocin into cattle to increase milk production was banned as it affects both animals and humans consuming the milk.
