SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) commandos are elite, highly trained personnel equipped to handle hostage situations, rescue operations and terror strikes. The unit was created in 2009 after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and is trained on the lines of US SWAT teams. Delhi Police woman constable Kajal Chaudhary, allegedly killed by husband with dumbbell, served as a SWAT commando.
