What is the 'Cockroach Janta Party' WhatsApp links scam?

Police in Punjab have issued an advisory, warning people about possible cyber fraud being carried out in the name of Cockroach Janta Party. They said that many scammers have been circulating phishing links on WhatsApp under the guise of joining the party. On clicking the link, scammers can hack people's phones and access their bank account details and personal data.
