What is the difference between 'regular' and 'direct' mutual funds?
A regular mutual fund plan is bought through an intermediary such as a bank, broker or financial advisor who help select schemes. A direct plan, however, allows investors to invest directly with an Asset Management Company without involvement of a distributor. A direct mutual fund plan can give higher returns as it does not involve paying commission to the intermediary.
