What is the link between an IPS officer, ₹5,000-cr fake drugs & ₹3-cr bribery cases?

A Puducherry-based businessman, N Raja, was arrested in December 2025 in an alleged ₹5,000-crore counterfeit medicines racket. When the probe deepened, the CBI found out that Raja tried to find influential people who could help him obtain relief. In the process, he got in touch with IPS officer Deepak Gahlawat, who allegedly demanded ₹3 crore to influence officials in CBI.
