What is the punishment for driving a vehicle without insurance?

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has shared a post on punishment for driving an uninsured vehicle. First offence carries a fine of ₹2,000 and/or imprisonment up to three months. The second offence carries a fine of ₹4,000 and/or imprisonment up to three months, the government said in the post.
