What is #trashtag challenge that has gone viral worldwide?

Under the #trashtag challenge, people are posting before-after photos of littered places and posing with trash collected by them. Its earliest reference was traced to 2015, where a Canadian man collected 100 pieces of trash in guilt after a paper accidentally flew out of a window. It recently went viral after Facebook user Byron Román shared his photo with #trashtag.
