Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde wished Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray as his Maharashtra Legislative Council tenure ended. In response, Thackeray said, "I'm glad that you know me so well, but what was it that made it necessary to hold someone else's hand for support?". In 2022, Shinde split from Thackeray’s party and formed a government with BJP's backing.
