What rules did UPSC change for already serving IAS & IFS officers?

The UPSC has barred serving IAS or IFS officers from appearing in CSE 2026 if they continue to be members of that service. If a candidate is appointed after Prelims 2026 but before Mains, they will be barred from writing Mains. If they are appointed after Mains but before results, they won't be considered for appointment based on CSE 2026.
