What triggered massive midnight vandalism by students at LPU?

The massive vandalism at Punjab's Lovely Professional University began late Saturday night when posts alleging sexual assault of a female student on campus by an outsider went viral. Another claim alleged that an electrician groped a student in GH3 hostel. Police said they hadn't received any information about the alleged rape. Students have accused LPU administration of suppressing the incidents.
