WhatsApp bug may let hackers send fake messages: Researchers

Israeli cybersecurity firm CheckPoint researchers have found a bug in WhatsApp that could allow hackers to modify and send fake messages on the platform. The vulnerability gives a hacker the possibility "to intercept and manipulate messages sent in a group or private conversation". In response, WhatsApp said the claim had nothing to do with "the security of end-to-end encryption".
