WhatsApp catches new NSO-linked spyware attacks, seeks court action

WhatsApp said it disrupted a new phishing campaign linked to Israeli spyware maker NSO Group, accusing the company of violating a court order barring it from targeting WhatsApp users. Meta said attackers used malicious links and test accounts on the platform. WhatsApp is now seeking a contempt order against NSO, whose Pegasus spyware previously targeted journalists and activists.
