WhatsApp to charge businesses on per-token basis for using AI agents form August 1

Meta announced that it will charge WhatsApp Business users on a per-token basis for the use of its AI agent Meta Business Agent starting August 1. A global rate of $2 (₹190) per million tokens will be imposed. “One message typically consumes about 20,000-25,000 tokens,” it added. Moreover, it will bring back per-message charges for service messages from October 1.
