WhatsApp to let iPhone users back up chats without iCloud: Report

WhatsApp is developing a first-party cloud backup feature for iPhone users, allowing chats to be backed up directly to its servers instead of iCloud, WABetaInfo reported. The backups will remain end-to-end encrypted, and users can switch between iCloud and WhatsApp storage. The feature also gives 2GB of free storage on WhatsApp's servers for photos or other files.
