WhatsApp to let users store backups in its own cloud system: Report

WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is developing a feature to let users back up chats on its own encrypted cloud storage. While users already have the option to back up their chats to Google Drive and iCloud, the new option would reduce reliance on third-party platforms. If users store data on WhatsApp servers, end-to-end encryption will be mandatory for all backups.
