Wheelchair racer Melanie Woods named CWG 2026's outstanding athlete

Scottish wheelchair racer Melanie Woods has been named the outstanding athlete of the Commonwealth Games 2026 after winning two gold medals. The 31-year-old, who has been awarded the David Dixon Award, won the women's T54 1500m twice in less than 40 hours after a collision forced the race to be rerun. She also claimed gold in the T54 400m.
